Instagram Love

This past week and the week coming have been and will be pretty busy for me.
I am working on a couple of projects outside of the blog,
but I have to say that I am  really missing my re-styles and DIY that  I do.
I hope to squeeze in a few this week  no matter what.
For now Instagram has been keeping me connected to everyone.
 A week in pictures.
Hopefully Sailor Sam will be on later with his fun week.
Some other fantastic news is Audrey, the Lego he really likes,
is coming for a visit next week so we are extremely excited about that.

Leather Bracelet, DIY

The leather bracelet with circles punched in them
has gotten quite a few emails, so I deiced to show you how I made it.

Tutorial
Things you Need
  1.  Leather hole punch
  2. Cord
  3. Leather 1 inch by 6 inches
  4. Gold paint
  5. Brush

Cut your leather 1inch wide by 6 inches long
punch  a hole in each end

Cut two pieces of cord 12 inches long.

With your leather hole punch,
punch holes all over your leather,
in different sizes.

fold you cord in half and place the  folded end through the hole at the end of the leather.

Tighten

Paint the leather gold.

To finish, follow these instructions.
The square knot.

Now add it to your bracelets,
 and enjoy.
Have a wonderful Thursday.

Belt Bracelet,DIY

The funny story is, I was with my Mom, Grandmother and good friend Elaine having coffee. Walking up to the table, we were all saying our hello's and something felt very strange around my waist. I looked down and my belt had just said it's final  goodbye as a belt,~ broken~ right off the belt buckle.  Everyone looked at me, laughed and shouted out "RE-STYLE!!"
I still smile every time I think of it.
Of course this belt has lots of life left.
Let's breathe new life into this poor, broken belt  and turn it into a bracelet.

Tutorial
Things you need.

I trimmed off the broken leather

Measure your wrist

cut the leather in a half circle.

with the leather hole punch,
Punch a hole at the end.

I used a large rhinestone stud,
I put that through the hole and placed the back on it.

place the bracelet ~rhinestone down~ on a wood cutting board or a piece of wood,
lightly hammer the metal back to fuse it with the rhinestone.
The rhinestone keeps the leather from sliding, once you put it on, like a clasp.

All finished, super easy
and you re- purposed.

Have a great Monday.
